About Motor Recall

The app captures a simple concept: lights on a car mean something to you.

Like many categories of knowledge, you might hope to test it. For this need, we bring to you Motor Recall. Months of eye straining, painstaking work has completed a collection of over 250 vehicles--some pedestrian, others maybe not so much. With each tracing and rendering, we bring to ambiguous life headlights and taillights. You might begin our app with cued recall through our match mode, where an array of headlights find their rear end mates. You might also chose to dive straight into cold hard motor recall, where it is up to you to determine make, model, and year.

The purist in you may feel that our touch ups have altered the experience, but we suspect that even your sharp intellect may have trouble identifying a car with the limitations of night time motion photography. We also wanted to drive safely, and not menace our friends on the road. It is, at the end of the day, a simulated experience, but our reality is pretty damn well close to yours--true to every face lift and accurate to every last blasted LED.

The Team

Some folks create to address pain points--we birth ideas that raise your appreciation of all things motor.

The team at Motor Recall all have day jobs, soul grating ones. CS drives to and from the hamster wheel, and the thrill of this simple commute showed him what happens when a car goes above and beyond in the life of its master. He observed the faithful steeds around him, and found an endless fascination with the fixtures that marked the history of each vehicle. We are not alone, we are certain of it. We are certain at least, that you can recognize the lights on a Crown Victoria.

So certain in fact that we went ahead and started tracing and note-taking. Our respect for the intricacies of motor designs have ensured the utmost faithfulness in our renderings. We hope that this app is validates what you always knew about yourself--that you know your shit.

Late at night in a Dunkin, he watched some young bucks load up on post-party munchies, and launched into an alcohol-induced rage over what might be the make and model of the car trapped in front of the light beyond the window. The argument was settled as the car sped by the green, and triumphant high-fives were shared by some in the group. It was there that he was inspired to do his next venture.

Dennis Chan - Programming
Master of the universally desirable languages of software code, Dennis found the world to be his oyster. He spent 6 years at Bloomberg, then decided to go down a check list of entrepreneurial ventures. Let's just say we're glad making a game was on said list. In the meantime, he has co-founded a travel start up, designs board games and dabbles in 3D printing. You might ask how one might dabble in 3D printing...all we know is, he made the game.
